We had recently shared about a Kickstarter campaign, where Brandon Sanderson had already by passed $20.4 Million in funds raised, to author 4 novels. That campaign has now come to a close and it has eclipsed all expectations - to be precise: After 30 days on Kickstarter, Sanderson's fund raising campaign has finally wrapped and supported by his extensive fanbase of over 185,000 investors, he has raised $41,754,153. To put this in some context, this is $40.7 more than Sanderson had set as a goal for the campaign, a mere $1 Million.

This is not Sanderson's first successful go with Kickstarter. In 2020, he raised $6.7 Million from more than 300,000 investors to produce 10th anniversary edition of his book, "The Way of Kings".

In the spirit of sharing, Sanderson has spread the capital with other literary projects on Kickstarter, that do no violate the platforms Terms & Conditions (T&C's). According to one source, the total number of projects that received funding from Sanderson's team have reach 300 in total.

With the rest of the funding, Sanderson will release four books in 2023 that are primarily set in the Cosmere universe, something akin to an MCU or DC Comics universes. Based on tiers of donations, the readers will receive the books in different formats - ranging from e-Books to hard over paper editions. Beyond the books, there will also we swag that backers will receive in 2023.

With the campaign now successfully closed, Kickstarter is also set to make a hefty profit. Kickstarter will make more than $2 million based on a 5% fee from the funds collected.
